On a personal level, the quality, expressive range, and responsiveness of Escoda brushes are an essential part of my work. I use many, but in particular the Versatil Series of Synthetic Kolinsky Fiber flat brushes by Escoda has revolutionized my paintings. The feel, speed, water- retention, and flow are simply like none other.

Thomas Schaller about Escoda brushes:

“One of the joys of painting in watercolor is how immediate and spontaneous it allows the artist to be. And because so few materials are needed to complete outstanding work, it makes the quality of each material selected of utmost importance. So, for this reason, Escoda brushes continue to outshine most all others.

Differing from large corporate and mass-production companies, Escoda is essentially a small, family-run business that has produced the highest quality, environmentally ethical, artisanal brushes for decades. These matters because they make the sincere effort to know and respond to the community of artists who rely on them as an integral part of all our creative lives. In every way, they are artists themselves.

On a personal level, the quality, expressive range, and responsiveness of Escoda brushes are an essential part of my work. I use many, but in particular the Versàtil Series of Synthetic Kolinsky Fiber flat brushes by Escoda has revolutionized my paintings. The feel, speed, water- retention, and flow are simply like none other. I cannot imagine being able to do what I do without them. Without any doubt, Escoda have made me a far better artist.”
