Jung Hunsung

Watercolors that reflect different human perspectives

He was born in 1971 in Yeosu, a small port city in Korea with a beautiful and developed artistic culture. Jung Hunsung began painting in a studio when he was 10 years old, and, as an adult, he learned watercolor and painted on his own. Currently, he is a painter who works exclusively with watercolor. He lives in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, and runs the J.hunsung Watercolor studio.

Intuition as part of his work

His work seeks both empirical intuition and essential intuition, and since it deals with expressing the theme of people, he cannot obtain the results of his work if he is not able to humble himself. Representing people within the story of water using watercolor pigments allows us to see ourselves as a mirror, with different perspectives and a common approach.

"The main reason I use Escoda brushes is that they allow the artist to control water with precision, something that requires a lot of learning time. Escoda brushes are excellent tools that support these aspects. They help beginners who have difficulty controlling water and, at the same time, allow experts to maximize technical elements and achieve more expressiveness in each stroke."

Jung Hunsung about Escoda brushes:

Among the materials that play an important role in painting, brushes have a great influence on the artwork. In watercolor, brushes have a direct relationship with water when painting, so the manufacturing process is important.

For me, brushes pursue functions that go beyond simply painting, and Escoda brushes will be my companions for a long time. I believe they are worth sharing with you.
