Liu Yi
A very prolific career
Liu Yi (Zhejiang – China, 1958) is currently the head of the International Watercolor Society in China, General Secretary of the International Association of Masters of Watercolor, Member of the China Artists Association, Director of the Shanghai Artists Association, Member of the Artist Committee of Jiukeshu (Shanghai) Future Art Center and former Associate Dean of the School of Arts, Shanghai University of Applied Sciences. He has been part of the jury of several watercolor competitions, especially in China.
Liu Yi as watercolorist
Liu Yi’s work as a watercolourist can be divided into five major themes: ballet, figures, landscapes, flowers and nature. He has published several books that include his works and his painting technique. He has been awarded the title of International Master of Realistic Watercolor and Exceptional Art. More than 20 of his pieces have been awarded in international watercolor competitions and in China.
